Meet Your Crestline Hosts at Holly Hill Chalet
Anita Hodson (Custodian)
Hello, I’m Anita, your host and a former ship’s navigator. After spending 22 years at sea, I developed a deep appreciation for tranquility and natural beauty — qualities I’ve woven into the very spirit of Holly Hill Chalet here in Crestline.
My career as a Master Mariner took me across the world, from cargo ships to luxury cruise lines and private yachts. Along the way, I also had the joy of designing unique itineraries for travelers and even working behind the scenes on film productions and tours. These experiences taught me how special it is to create meaningful, memorable journeys — something I now strive to bring to every guest’s stay at the chalet.
At Holly Hill Chalet, my goal is to offer a warm and welcoming retreat where chic design meets the calmness of nature. With serene surroundings and breathtaking views, it’s a space designed for both romance and relaxation — perfect for celebrating a special occasion or simply escaping the everyday.
Although I live on the property, I fully respect your privacy and want you to enjoy the magic of the chalet at your own pace. If you’d like to connect or have a chat during your stay, I’m always happy to do so, but you’ll never feel obliged.
I’m here to ensure your experience is unforgettable. If you have any questions or special requests before your arrival, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’d love to hear from you.

Willow the Dog (the boss)
Willow is a sweet and friendly 10-year-old Cocker Spaniel mix. Rescued from a freeway in San Bernardino as a puppy, she was found in a Hollywood rescue. Now, she has come full circle, living in San Bernardino County. Willow loves squirrels, cats, and her favorite cow toy. As head of security, she enjoys spending time in the garden, just like our other dog guests.
Olive the Cat (Night patrol)
Allow us to introduce Olive, the latest addition to our family team. She takes pleasure in birdwatching and occasional garden strolls on leash. Olive excels in mouse patrol, expertly keeping them at bay, while also cherishing the company of her best friend, Willow.
Thank you to Jenna Rose Photography for the great picture.
Wildlife Team
Blue Jays
Blue Jays abound throughout our property, enriching your bird-watching experience. I provide peanuts, their favorite treat, fostering their playful antics. Known for their assertive nature, they often assert dominance over other feathered friends, adding excitement to your avian observations.
Ravens
Ravens often grace us with their majestic fly-bys, taking a moment to soak in the scenery. Particularly in the afternoon, they gracefully descend to quench their thirst in our fountain, adding to the tranquil ambiance of our surroundings.
Honorable wildlife mentions…
Bears - Our VIP guests who stroll through to enjoy the view (and maybe critique our landscaping).
Foxes - The local mixologists, dropping by for a drink and a hunt.
Woodpeckers - The resident percussionists, always ready for a jam session.
Chickadees - Our in-house serenaders, filling the air with their beautiful melodies.
Squirrels - The neighborhood pranksters, stealing the Blue Jays’ peanuts and teasing Willow.
Raccoons - The curious wanderers, stopping by for a sip of our finest... water.
Deer - Gourmet diners who can’t resist our roses and are always thirsty for more.
Coyotes - Our personal fitness trainers, keeping us on our toes.
Mice - The uninvited guests, always looking for a way into the house (but don't worry, we've got it covered).
